Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of fileflip.app. Using the site means you accept them. They are short because FileFlip is a free tool with no account, no payment and no upload, which removes most of what a service agreement usually has to deal with.

What FileFlip provides

FileFlip is a file converter that runs in your web browser. The conversion engines are downloaded to your device and executed there, so FileFlip never receives, processes or stores the files you convert. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy. Your files are your responsibility

You are responsible for the files you convert and for having the right to convert them. FileFlip cannot review, moderate or restrict what you convert, because the conversion happens on your machine and no copy reaches FileFlip.

Keep your originals. A conversion can fail or produce a result you did not expect, and FileFlip holds no copy of the input to fall back on. Treat every conversion as something you should check before deleting the source file.

Acceptable use

Use the site as intended. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or break into it, do not misrepresent FileFlip as your own service, and do not use it in a way that breaks the law where you are. There is no way to post or upload content to fileflip.app, so no rules about user submissions are needed.

Copyright, and the software FileFlip runs

The design, text and code of fileflip.app belong to its author. The conversion engines are separate third-party open source projects, including ImageMagick, FFmpeg, Pandoc, MuPDF, Assimp and libarchive, and each remains the property of its own authors under its own licence.

If you believe material published on fileflip.app infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a description of the work, a link to the page carrying it, and your contact details. Valid complaints are acted on. Note that FileFlip hosts no user-submitted files, so a converted file cannot be hosted here.

No warranty

FileFlip is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. Conversion between file formats is lossy for many format pairs and imperfect for some, and there is no promise that a given conversion preserves layout, metadata, colour profiles or quality. Check the output before you rely on it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, the author of FileFlip is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including lost files, lost data or lost profits, even where the possibility of such damage was known.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the author of FileFlip against any claim brought by a third party arising from your use of the site or from your breach of these terms.

Changes and termination

These terms may be updated, and the date at the bottom of this page will change when they are. Access to fileflip.app may be withdrawn or the site may be taken offline at any time. There is no account to close and no data of yours to return.
